Why does the Qur’an talk about mercy so much?
Because God wants us to know that His door is always open.
The Qur’an shows a relationship with God full of mercy and guidance, not harshness.
It reminds us that God forgives and has mercy, no matter what mistakes we make, if we turn back to Him.
We should not feel hopeless or always guilty.
We can always return to Him.
This repetition is a message: mercy is the heart of our relationship with God.
Allah says:
"Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allāh. Indeed, Allāh forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."" (Qur'an 39:53)
