As told in the Qur’an, the story of Jesus starts with his grandmother, ‘Imran’s wife, who pledged her pregnancy to God’s service. This pledge was accordingly fulfilled when she gave birth to Mary, Jesus’s mother,who was the best woman of her age, and one of the best of God’s creation.
