Islam and Health

Islam places great emphasis on health and well-being, considering it a blessing from Allah and a trust to be preserved.

The Quran and Hadith encourage maintaining a balanced lifestyle, which includes proper nutrition, physical activity, and mental well-being.

Cleanliness is integral to Islamic practice, with daily rituals like ablution (wudu) reinforcing hygiene. Additionally, moderation in eating and avoiding harmful substances are emphasized to prevent health issues.

Islamic teachings also highlight the importance of mental and emotional health, promoting practices like mindfulness through prayer, gratitude, and reliance on Allah.

Islam views health as a vital component of living a productive, spiritual life, where the body and soul are aligned in harmony with the teachings of Allah.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said : "The strong believer is better and dearer to Allah than the weak believer, and there is good in both. Adhere to whatever brings you benefit, seek the help of Allah, and do not feel helpless. If something befalls you, do not say: 'Had I done such-and-such, it would have been such-and-such;' rather, say: 'Allah has decreed, and whatever He wills, He does.' Indeed, 'if' opens the way before the devil to act."[Sahih Muslim - 2664]
