In Islam, parents are granted a position of immense honor and respect.
The Quran repeatedly emphasizes the importance of showing kindness, gratitude, and obedience to them, particularly as they age and become more dependent. Allah, the Almighty, says: "Your Lord has ordained that you worship none but Him, and show kindness to parents. If one or both of them reach old age in your care, do not say to them a word of annoyance nor scold them, rather speak to them noble words "(Quran 17:23)
Care for parents is regarded as a great virtue, and striving to make their lives easier and more comfortable is highly praiseworthy. Caring for parents is not only a moral responsibility but also a way to attain Allah's favor and reward. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stated that kindness to parents is among the most virtuous of deeds. Islam encourages children to serve their parents with patience, love, and humility, recognizing the sacrifices they made. Disrespecting or neglecting parents is considered a grave sin, while treating them with compassion is a source of reward in this life and the Hereafter.
