With the cancerous spread of hook-up culture, the idea of forming a family itself is no longer appealing to the modern generations.
In the past, the "American Dream" meant having a house, a car, children, a wooden fence, and weekend barbecues.
Now, the American Dream is a young man sitting in a nightclub surrounded by strippers and piles of cash.
The dream job for children is to become social media influencers and TikTok stars.
The girly dream of motherhood and child-rearing, have been replaced with the dream of attaining an executive position in one of Silicon Valley's companies.
The question is: What caused this mental distortion for men and women?!
The reason is that building a family goes against all the materialistic standards that govern the Western mind.
Sexual freedom?! You are confined to only one partner. Spending money on luxuries and entertainment?! Forget about when you have children.
Responsibility free life?! Responsibilities and duties are all you have when you have a family.
And in return for what?
I - as a man- can easily get access to sex through dating apps, why would I sacrifice my life to create a healthy next generation?
Let the next generation go to hell... I'll be dead by then.
Here's a part of the catastrophe.
According to the "National Fatherhood Initiative® 2019” fatherlessness causes the following:
A 400% increase in the likelihood of the family falling below the poverty line.
A 200% increase in the likelihood of the child not completing basic education.
A 200% increase in the likelihood of the child suffering from obesity.
A 700% increase in the likelihood of teenage pregnancy.
Varying increases in the likelihood of the child turning to crime, alcohol or drugs.
The shocking part is that fathers aren't usually absent due to death, but often because the father voluntarily chose to abandon his family and live alone or with a new "partner"... who may also bear his children and be abandoned again!
The other shocking part is the number of abandoned children. According to the same source, the number is 18.4 million children.
It's a shocking reality that has not yet fully revealed its poisonous effects.
And just as Nietzsche predicted the rivers of blood that would flow in the twentieth century as a result of the spread of atheism and the “death of God”, It's easy to predict further collapses in Western societies due to the collapse of the primary building unit... the family.
But... are there any signs of hope, or is the future entirely bleak?
The truth is, despite the ongoing deliberate destruction of society caused by the liberal media, we have recently witnessed an increase in the number of converts to Islam, especially among the youth.
These young people have witnessed the results of individualism and the pursuit of momentary pleasures, and they have seen the tragic ends of famous stars who committed suicide and athletes whose lives ended due to an overdose of drugs.
They have seen the result of a person living chasing short-sighted pleasure, and they began searching for a path that would lift their gazes towards the sky. They found no path that aligns with their nature except Islam. It is the safe haven that Allah, the Almighty, has revealed for humanity.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said:
"Each of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock. The man is a shepherd in his family and is responsible for his flock. The woman is a shepherd in her husband's house and is responsible for her flock. The child is a shepherd over his father's wealth and is responsible for his flock. The servant is a shepherd over his master's property and is responsible for his flock. So, each of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock."
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said:
"Whoever has two daughters and treats them kindly, they will be a means of protection for him against the hell fire."
He, peace be upon him, also said:
"Whoever is pleased that his provision be expanded and his life be extended, let him maintain the ties of kinship."
In return, the father and mother are well aware that by nurturing their children according to Islam, the children will grow up to obey the command of Allah and His Prophet, becoming righteous and benevolent children to their parents.
Allah, the Almighty, says:
"[And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination."
[Quran 31:14].
The Prophet, peace be upon him, when asked, "Who is most deserving of my good companionship?" replied, "Your mother, then your mother, then your mother, then your father, then your nearest relatives, and then the next nearest."
The family in Islam is the foundation of society, and its preservation is a divine command.
