The Law of Causality states that every material effect must have an adequate antecedent or simultaneous cause. In simple terms, Something cannot come from nothing.
The Universe is a material effect that demands an adequate Cause, and non-theistic arguments cannot provide one, thus the proof that God exists.
Two ways by which the Law of Causality proves the existence of God are the Cosmological Argument and the Fine-Tuning Argument.
The Cosmological Argument proves through logical thinking that everything in the universe must have a cause or a reason for existence. The universe in general must have a reason for existence and Who gave it the existence is God or its Creator. The cosmological argument proves the existence of God by the very fact of the universe's existence, and everything therein . It concludes that things must have a cause, and that the chain of causes can only end by a supernatural root and cause, I.e. the existence of God..
The Fine Tuning Argument looks beyond the mere existence of
the cosmos and extends the scope of inquiry to the very design,
or intricate fine-tuning, of the universe. Its intricate ‘fine-tuning’
proves the existence of an intelligent designer which concludes nothing less than –the existence of God!
