Islam encourages all people to seek and increase their knowledge.It disparages and warns against ignorance. Islam has a rich history of engagement with science and technology, fostering curiosity, and innovation. Encouraging the pursuit of knowledge across various disciplines, Allah says :
“Allah will exalt in degree those of you who believe and those who have been granted knowledge.”
(58:11)
Islam regards striving to seek, learn, and teach knowledge as a means which leads to Jannah. Prophet Muhammad forbade that knowledge be concealed.Islamic civilization played a crucial role in preserving and transmitting knowledge to Europe, fueling the Renaissance and Scientific Revolution.
